I managed communications efforts at Alcon Laboratories — the global leader in eye care — with 15,000 employees in more than 75 countries at the time. As a Manager, Global Internal Communications, I developed, planned and conducted communications in support of the company’s business objectives and culture using a range of media. Specific duties included:
- Served as managing editor of two corporate magazines: Alcon World News, a quarterly global magazine, and Euro-Vision, a multi-lingual magazine for European employees. (Articles included coverage of crises, manufacturing facilities and company milestones, as well as employee profiles.)
- Worked closely with the CEO and other senior leaders to draft communications and provide consultation on major company initiatives, including crises and organizational change. Developed messaging and served as a media point of contact for a range of issues.
